attended esthetician school.
“I fell in love with how satisfying and rewarding the process can be, but even more so, with helping women feel good in their own skin.”
For Maya, one of the most rewarding parts of her career is seeing the difference between the woman who walks into her studio and the one who walks back out.
“There’s something so special about welcoming you exactly as you are and watching you leave feeling lighter, happier, more confident, and a little more in love with yourself.

Does a Brazilian wax hurt?
Everyone’s experience is a little different. Waxing can be uncomfortable, particularly during your first appointment, but Maya says the process tends to get easier with consistent appointments. Her goal throughout the service is always to make you as comfortable as possible.
What's the difference between a Classic, Deluxe and Ultimate Brazilian?
All three Brazilian services at Ivy Esthetics include a thorough front-to-back wax, with extractions and high-frequency treatment provided as needed. Think of the services as different tiers.
The Classic is the foundation, the Deluxe adds an extra touch of skincare, and the Ultimate includes the most personalized treatment.If you aren't sure which option is best for you, Maya can help you choose based on your skin's needs and the type of experience you're looking for.
I've never had a Brazilian wax. Is it awkward?
According to Maya: not at all. “This is my job, and I promise I’ve seen it all. ”Body hair, questions and nerves are completely normal, and Maya doesn’t want clients to feel embarrassed about any of them. And in Maya’s own words, she’s “a big yapper,” so before you know it, you may be chatting your way through the appointment and checking out your finished results.
Her biggest message to first-time clients?
You’re walking into a safe, comfortable and judgment-free space. Come as you are.
How long does my hair need to be for a Brazilian wax?
Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long — approximately the size of a grain of rice — for optimal waxing results. Maya has an even easier way to remember it: “If it’s pinchable, it’s perfect!”
Waxing is generally recommended every four to six weeks to maintain smooth results and help reduce hair regrowth over time.
Can I get a Brazilian wax while I'm on my period?
Yes. Maya says clients can still be waxed during their period. She asks that you wear a tampon or menstrual cup during your appointment to help keep the service comfortable and sanitary.
What should I do after my Brazilian wax?
Give your skin some time to breathe.
For approximately 24 hours following your appointment, Maya recommends avoiding:
• Excessive heat
• Heavy sweating and friction
• Tight clothing
• Intimacy
Maya also walks clients through proper aftercare and sends first-time clients home with samples so they know how to care for their skin following their appointment.
